84% of devices run iOS9 which is the latest version of the Apples mobile OS. Apple users update their devices pretty quickly.
18.2% of the Apple devices are iPhone 6 phones, when the next on the list is the 5S followed by the 6S with 10.9% share.
The most popular Apple tablet is still the iPad 2 with 5.7% of the global device pool, despite being released in 2011.

The largest iPhone has a 5.5" screen and represents 15% of the total devices, while the smallest is 3.5" and has 9% share (all those non-retina screens). The 4.7" which is the size of 6 and 6S represents 34%.

Most Android phones run Lollipop version 5.0 and 5.1. The latest release - Marshmallow runs on 10.1% of devices. The least share owns Froyo and has a distribution of only 0.1%.
So how are things looking for OS adoption on Android? Marshmallow is only installed on 10.1% of phones while Nougat, the brand new version of the OS is hitting market in just a couple of months.
At least 45.5% of devices have an updatable chrome webview.
What does a normal screen-size mean? Google categories screens based on size and densities. A normal sized screen is around 4 inches. The next one is categorized from 4" to 7" and has a share of 7.9%. As for screen densities 41.9% of devices are on hdpi (~240dpi) and 26.8% on xhdpi (~320dpi), so working with 2x resources or scalable graphics is a must.
